Legal Aid of Nebraska provides "dignity, hope, self-sufficiency and justice through quality civil legal aid for those who have nowhere else to turn." The fundamental goal of the program is to provide free legal representation to underprivileged citizens, and to cultivate self-sufficiency among their clients. Nebraska Legal Aid represents clients in federal, district, and tribal courts, as well as state and federal administrative tribunals. They cater to the legal needs of the state's poverty-stricken, refugees and other new Americans in homeless shelters and ethnic centers. Legal Aid also delivers innovative, specialized programs designed to strengthen the community on top of providing advocacy, legal representation, and counseling to all eligible clients.
