Governor's Message

Hola habitants de Nebraska,

Welcome to the Nebraska Commission of Latino Americans! As Governor, it has been my greatest privilege to meet people from a variety of backgrounds across our great state. Ours is a welcoming and hospitable place – founded and formed through grit, determination and hard work. It is the best place in the world to work and raise a family. Here, neighbors help neighbors. Ask anyone and they will tell you, the best thing about our state are the people who live here.

Visitors are often surprised by the cultural diversity of Nebraska. We have rich and varied immigrant communities. They define our history and will continue to shape our state for generations to come. Those from Latino and Hispanic backgrounds are deeply woven into that fabric. It’s a growing population, bringing new business, innovation, tradition and culture.

Together, we will work for the continued success of our state and the generations of Nebraskans still to come. We want to make sure they inherit the same safe, strong, and prosperous Nebraska we all enjoy today. I thank you, for calling Nebraska home.

Sincerely,

Jim Pillen

Governor of Nebraska
