We are excited to introduce our newest summer intern, Mellany Fernandez! Mellany is a low vision student joining us this summer thanks to the WAGES program, which offers visually impaired youth the opportunity to gain work experience!
Mellany was born in South Sioux City, Nebraska, and is a proud Hispanic. She is currently a Junior in high school and is passionate about playing the Piano and Basketball.
Through this internship, she hopes to develop valuable professional skills, build meaningful relationships, and expand her network by connecting with Latino-serving organizations and community leaders throughout Nebraska.
When she's not working or studying, Mellany enjoys cooking, listening to music, and spending time with her family.
