Lali Sage

Lali works as a Paralegal for the Office of Deputy Commissioner and General Counsel at the Nebraska Department of Labor. She has worked as a public servant for the State of Nebraska since 2016 and was the recipient of the Nebraska Department of Labor 2021 Excellence in Leadership Award. During the pandemic, Lali presented on behalf of the Commissioner of the Nebraska Department of Labor on several events as follows: Governor Ricketts’ Spanish press conferences, town hall with U.S. Congressman Don Bacon, and outreach events for Telemundo Nebraska, Goodlife Community Development, and other local online sources.
Originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Lali attended the German School of Guadalajara and graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Guadalajara. During her college years, Lali studied abroad for a semester in Germany. Lali was an athlete for over 10 years while living in Mexico, and she attended several national swim meets representing the state of Jalisco.
Lali volunteered at El Centro de las Americas in Lincoln, where she taught computer classes in Spanish to elderly people, she had a conversational group for individuals who wanted to practice Spanish and also helped people study for the citizenship exam.
Lali has been a Commissioner for the Latino-American Commission (Governor’s Representative) since 2022 and became the Secretary for the Executive Committee for the Latino-American Commission in 2023.
In her free time, Lali loves singing, playing the guitar, and cooking delicious food.
