Legal Aid of Nebraska exists to promote justice, dignity, hope, and self-sufficiency through quality civil legal aid for those who have nowhere else to turn. They provide information, referrals, advice, legal assistance, and representation to underrepresented, low-income, and vulnerable individuals with civil legal issues. They stand side-by-side with Nebraskans to ensure the fair enforcement of the law, to protect the rights of the people, and to address the urgent legal needs of our communities.
Their priority areas include children and families, debt and finances, housing, and income and benefits. In addition, the Ag Worker Rights Program helps agricultural workers in Nebraska assert their employment rights. Their focus is on ensuring agricultural workers are paid what they are owed under the law; ensuring that their working conditions are safe; and addressing harassment and discrimination in the workplace.
