Evelyn Haro currently serves as a bilingual Labor Law Specialist and the Meatpacking Bill of Rights Coordinator for the Nebraska Department of Labor, bringing over eight years of public service experience. In this role, she advocates for workers in the meatpacking industry to ensure their rights are protected and also enforces a broad range of labor laws to promote compliance and support fair, lawful workplace practices across the state.

Coming from an immigrant household, Evelyn has long held a deep passion for supporting immigrant families and advocating for underserved communities. She is honored to serve on the Nebraska Commission on Latino-Americans, where she is committed to empowering the Latino community, expanding access to vital resources across the state, and serving as a voice for Latino-Americans within Nebraska state government.

In addition to her professional work, Evelyn volunteers as a mentor with the TeamMates Mentoring Program, offering guidance and support in both academic and personal development.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, spending time with her husband, and cheering on her kids from the sidelines at their sporting events.
